PARQ SA has no accounts and no sign-up. I do not ask for your name, email or phone number, and PARQ does not run advertising or its own tracking.
What stays on your device
PARQ saves a few small items in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
- Your choices: language (EN or ES), theme (auto, day or night), the sort order, and the last destination and time you picked, so the app opens where you usually go.
- The spot you saved with I PARKED HERE, with the time and the optional meter end time.
- Your plate number, only if you type it into MY PLATE on the MY SPOT screen. It stays on this phone and is never sent to PARQ. PARQ asks for no name. When you tap a reserve or pay button and a plate is saved, PARQ copies it to your clipboard so you can paste it at checkout. You can clear it any time with CLEAR PLATE.
Meter reminders and notifications
If you set a meter end time in MY SPOT and tap REMIND ME 10 MIN BEFORE, your browser asks for permission to send notifications. That is the only time PARQ asks. To send the reminder, PARQ stores your browser's push subscription (an address the browser vendor provides, with its encryption keys) and the meter end time in a short-lived Durable Object on Cloudflare. It sends one notification about 10 minutes before the meter ends and one when it expires, then deletes the record. A reminder you cancel is deleted right away. There is no account, no name and no phone number, and nothing else is kept. On iPhone, web notifications work only after you add PARQ to your Home Screen.
Offline use
PARQ saves its pages, the spot and event data, and the map tiles you have already looked at in your browser so it keeps working with a weak signal. Prices shown offline may be out of date.
What other services see
- Cloudflare serves this site. It handles your request and may keep standard server logs or basic aggregate analytics.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
- OpenFreeMap serves the map tiles and cdnjs serves the map library. Both receive your IP address when the map loads. OpenFreeMap says it uses no cookies and no user database.
- Links to ParkWhiz, SpotHero, SAPark, Apple Maps and Google Maps open those services. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave PARQ.
Location
PARQ asks for your location only when you tap the locate button or choose Near me, never when the page loads. Your browser shows its own permission prompt. If you allow it, your position is used inside your browser to measure walk times and place a dot on the map. It is not sent to PARQ or anyone else and it is not saved. If you say no, everything else keeps working. The directions buttons hand a destination to your maps app.
